BUILD YOUR MODEL:
Once the IMPLAN Software has been installed, you are ready to build a New Model.

Provide your Model a name and select Save.
Choose the data you want to incorporate into your model in the Select Model Data Files screen and select Select Data File.
The select regions will drop down to the Selected IMPLAN Data Files window. Ensure that Build through Multipliers is checked and select Continue. Your new model will start building.
Note: The model building progress can be viewed in the progress bar in the lower left corner of the software.
If you need to access a different a region, the software will need to be directed to your data files.
CHANGE DATA FOLDER:
Select Change Data Folder at the top right of the Select Model Data Files screen.
Navigate to the following pathway: IMPLAN>Data Files>Year>State, and select OK.
Once the model is built, Setup Activities will become activated in the Tasks bar on the left side of the Software.
Note: If your model is not built through Multipliers, Setup Activities will be greyed out along with the rest of the Analyze menu. If the model is not built through Multipliers, you can build your current model(s) through Multipliers: Options> Construct> Multipliers.
Select Setup Activities > New Activity
Select the "Industry Change" Type of Activity and name the Activity. Then click Save. The Activity is the container that holds the Event(s).
Once you have created an Activity, you will need to create a New Event by clicking on that button. The Event shows the change in production of an industry or commodity as a dollar value change in final demand. In other words, Events describe how the Activity is going to affect the local Study Area's economy.
In the events screen, choose the Sector in which the demand change will occur. Enter an Input value in 1 of the 4 following fields: Industry Sales, Employment, Employee Compensation, or Proprietor income.
Note: You can customize the data to represent your specific industry by entering a value into more than one of the following fields: Industry Sales, Employment, Employee Compensation, and/or Proprietor Income.
The Scenario is a container that holds the Activity(s) that specify all sales to Final Demand (Direct Effects) for a given impact. To advance to the Analyze Scenarios screen; click the Next button at the bottom right corner of the software, or select the Analyze Scenarios button in the left hand Tasks menu under the heading Analyze.
The first time this screen is prompted in a Model you will be asked to create a New Scenario. Name your scenario something that relates to what you are analyzing. Then click Save.
Select the Activity(s) to be included in the Scenario.
Double click or highlight the Activity(s) in the Available Activity window and Select this will place the Activity(s) in the Selected Activities window.
Select Analyze Single Region. This button will activate once the Selected Activity(s) filed populates with one (1) Activity.
By clicking Analyze Single Region you are activating the model to analyze the Events you have created.
Once the analysis has been completed, Scenario Results will activate in the Tasks bar under Analyze.
The results of your analysis can be viewed once IMPLAN has completed analyzing the impact.
Once the analysis is complete, the message below will be prompted:
Yes: Displays the Scenario Results.
NO: Returns you to the Analyze Scenarios screen so that you can run multiple Scenarios without having to review the results. Select Scenario Results in the Tasks Menu to be directed to the results.
Scenario Results displays the results of the analysis in three tabs: Summary Results, Detail Results and Tax Results.
Export your results directly to Excel or to a CSV format.
