Question: I have a basic question about purchasing IMPLAN data files. When a user purchases a county data file, it was my understanding that your shop calibrates the file to the structure of the local economy before you pass it on to the customer. I know there are probably some real time lags, but isn't this what the user pays for? Answer: The IMPLAN data files are off the shelf. A 2004 data file will reflect 2004 data. A 2006 data file will reflect 2006 data. Our \"current\" data files are 2006. They will reflect data at the time we put the files together (July-September, 2007). If the government revises their 2006 data later, it will not be reflected in our 2006 data files. Not all government 2006 data was not released by the time we put together 2006, so we rely on relationship from the latest data and adjust to published 2006 controls. When the 2006 data is finally released from these sources we do not go back to revise the previously published IMPLAN data.
