CEW establishments with value less than 1 ???
We got the CEW/ES202 state package from you last week and I have a few questions about it.
Question: Is there for NAICS 111 but not any level at 4 or 5 or 6 digit levels. Similarly 112. Is the data not available or is it zero or was not calculated??
Answer: There is no CBP data for agricultural sectors to help with the non-disclosures.
Question: For a few NAICS codes, the number of establishments is given as 0.3 I was not able to understand why is it in fractions. e.g. for state of KS, NAICS 316992 gives 0.3 as number of establishments.
Answer: The BLS only reports establishment data and employment data in whole numbers (no decimals) when in fact fractions are possible (eg, 1 employee in January and none for the rest of the year is .083 jobs.) One establishment existing in the 1st quarter only is .25 establishment. If you look at enough data you will find a non-disclosed sector with 0 establishments (employment with less than .5 establishments).
In your case, it was non-disclosed but the sector did not exist in CBP so we give it a minimal value (0.3).
