Question: Is it possible to get IMPLAN to generate employment impacts in years other than the data base year? I have a project that is anticipated to generate jobs in the year 2012. I have 2007 year IMPLAN data. Answer: Yes. The model has a picture of the structure of the economy as it is in 2007. It is the economic structure that determines what the multiplier will be. In most cases you can assume the current structure will hold for the foreseeable future, or at least is the best current estimate of the what the economic structure will be. Note, if you plug in employment, even if it is future employment, leave the year as the year of the model. The output per worker estimate comes from the model data base and is already in base year prices. You may reflate the impact results to the year of the impact if desired in reports.
