Hello Andrew, We actually compile our GDP and Employment data from a couple of different sources which can result in variances between what one source reports and what our data reflects. Our key data source for Employment is BLS CEW data which is benchmarked with the BEA REA (where we also obtain proprietor jobs and income). It is also important to note that BEA data are lagged one year, thus the 2013 BEA data would not have been available for the 2013 data release. Therefore, we used the 2012 BEA data to estimate 2013 IMPLAN data. Also note that many public data sources (including BEA) periodically revise their numbers sometime after initial publication (i.e., after we have used them to estimate IMPLAN data); we here at IMPLAN do not subsequently re-estimate our figures. These articles may be helpful in understanding why their are variances between BEA and IMPLAN GDP and Employment. http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=282:282-transferred&catid=224:224 http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=450:450&catid=224:224 http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=285:285&catid=226:226
