Hi Aymie! Thank you for your forum post. You are correct in that when looking at an Event that had already occurred; the Event Year will need to be changed to reflect the dollar value of the input(s) entered into your Event. Such inputs would include: Industry Sales, Employment, Employment Compensation and Proprietor Income. The Dollar Year for View in the Results Screen, allows you to view the impact in the specific dollar year that you select. The year that you select, Event Year or Current year depends on how you to report your results. Although current year is typically preferred for a general audience. If you are summing Event Years, it's important to choose one year to sum them. Thank You! IMPLAN Staff

So when summing projects from the past 3 years let's say, and want to have a current day dollar value, I would sum the current year results, correct?

Hello, Yes if you are wanting to sum the results across 3 years they would all need to be in the same year and this could certainly be 2016, since that will make the most sense to most audiences. Just one caution, if the three years represent the same operations you won't want to add the Employment values across all 3 years (i.e. if there were 10 jobs in year 1 and 10 in year 2, the total is 10 jobs not 20).
